Settling into Nursery

We operate an open-door policy, so you are always welcome to visit the nursery at a time that suits you. During your initial visit, we will provide a guided tour, giving you the opportunity to explore our setting, learn about our daily routines, activities and meet our friendly team. This visit also gives you plenty of time to ask questions, helping you make an informed decision about whether we are the right fit for you and your child.

For your child’s first settling-in session, we invite you to stay with them as they begin exploring their new environment and building a relationship with their key worker, all while having the reassurance of a familiar face nearby. As your child’s confidence grows, you will be able to leave them for short periods, gradually preparing them for full nursery sessions.

These settling-in sessions also allow our staff to get to know your child as an individual. We will ask you to complete “All About Me” documents helping us understand your child’s routines, interests, and preferences. This information supports a smooth transition and helps us build a strong partnership with you and your family.

Once your child feels confident and comfortable separating from parents or carers, they can fully begin their journey with us at Daydreams Nursery.
